The Swiss company has just announced the signature of its first hotel in Danang, scheduled to open end 2019. Four other properties should open in Vietnam by 2020.

The Swiss hotel company Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts just signed a new property in Vietnam. Located in Danang, a coastal town in the center of the country, the complex will house 150 rooms as well as 354 residences, a rooftop bar-restaurant, several bars, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, a kids club, as well as an reception hall and meeting rooms.

"The property is specifically being designed to serve Vietnam's rapidly developing tourism and business and MICE sector while also meeting emerging demand for extended and long-term stays," explains Andrew Langdon, CDO and Senior VP, Asia at Mövenpick. "The growth within the country's economy and a general increase in disposable income are driving domestic tourism and the property market simultaneously."

The new signature in Danang, which is to open at the end of 2019, is part of a series of the Swiss hotelier's ambitions. After the opening of the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi, four hotels are currently under development in Vietnam: Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh Bay (2018), Mövenpick Hotel Quảng Bình (2019), Mövenpick Resort Phu Quoc (2019) and Mövenpick Hotel Quy Nhon (2020).

As of January 1, 2017, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts AG ranks 52nd hotel group worldwide, with a portfolio of 84 properties for a total of 21,003 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
